Long Ditton Infant School News - Early Summer 2024

To our Long Ditton Infant School Families,

It's been a while since our last update, but we've been busy with a range of activities. From outdoor play to creative crafts, mastering the latest dance moves on Just Dance, and constructing towers and marble runs, there's never a dull moment. We've also been enjoying playing with a variety of toys, including barbies, ponies, animals, and trains. But the current favorite among the children is playing Top Trumps.

Our activities

The children are big fans of our craft activities, always eager to find out what's on the agenda for the day! For St. Patrick’s Day, we crafted Shamrock Leprechaun paper hats, and as Easter approached, we got creative with bunny masks, chick puppets, Easter bunnies, paper baskets, and even colored our own Easter-themed tablecloth. In honor of Earth Day, we made adorable Earth bookmarks and explored paper animal creations, a popular paper pirate telescope, and a giant paper ice cream. Fridays are reserved for outdoor fun, where we've learned boules, tried our hand at mini golf, and even tested our skills with slingshots.

Our activity board is bursting with creations, so we've had to start a second one! 😊

Summer fun

Finally, the weather has transitioned from grey, cold, and rainy to bright, hot, and sunny, so we're gearing up to spend plenty of time outdoors. We'll be playing football and tennis, testing our skipping skills, and mastering the balance on the trim trail. Of course, we'll still indulge in lots of craft activities and we'll; play with playdough, plant some seeds, make squishes, and have as much fun as ever!

Reminders

Don't forget to pack your child's sunhat and water bottle each day, and make sure they're labeled! Sunscreen is a must-have too—either apply it before they arrive or send it along so they can top up throughout the day. We'll be soaking up the sunshine outdoors as much as we can, so let's keep everyone protected and hydrated!
