Long Ditton Infant School News - Autumn Term 2024

10th February 2025

To Our Long Ditton Infant School Families,

What a fantastic and busy term it’s been! In September, we were thrilled to welcome everyone back, including our new Nursery children, as we expanded our care to accommodate more of the Long Ditton community. With two rooms to support our growing numbers, it’s been wonderful to see how quickly everyone settled in, forming friendships and embracing the Clubland spirit.

Here’s a glimpse into what we’ve been up to this term!

Staffing Updates

We’ve welcomed some new faces to our team this term, adding fresh energy and enthusiasm to our setting. Here’s who’s who at Long Ditton:

  • Manager: Andreja (Monday to Friday)
  • Deputy Managers: Marisa (Monday to Friday) and Veronica (Monday to Wednesday)
  • Team Members: Ella, Holly, Ben, Maryla, and Carrie

Our team has worked hard to make this term special for the children, and we’re proud of the positive relationships and fun-filled atmosphere they’ve helped create.

Our Daily Routine

Each day at Clubland is carefully planned to ensure children feel supported and engaged:

  1. Nursery Transition: Nursery children join us directly from their room.
  2. Reception Collection: Reception children are picked up from their classroom.
  3. Year 1 & 2 Arrival: These children walk to Clubland with guidance from their teaching staff.
  4. Snack Time: Children enjoy a choice of hot or cold snacks, while settling into free play and building friendships.
  5. Outdoor Play: We make the most of the daylight hours for active outdoor fun.
  6. Fruit & Biscuits: A mid-session treat, followed by our daily themed activity.

Our activities are inspired by seasonal celebrations, current events, and the children’s interests. The creativity and excitement they bring home show how much they’ve been enjoying these sessions!

Christmas fun

The festive spirit was in full swing this December! Woody and Goldie, our mischievous elves, kept the children entertained with their cheeky antics throughout the month. Did you spot them?

We ended the term with a fantastic Christmas party! The children danced at the disco, played games, and enjoyed party treats to celebrate the season in style.
