Dear Parents and Carers,
I am sure like us , a lot of you cannot believe that we have reached the end of Spring term and rapidly approaching the Summer term! Let's keep our fingers crossed for some warmer weather to accompany us for the rest of the Easter Break. With the promise of warmer days and blooming flowers, we're excited to share with you the latest updates, achievements, and upcoming events within club.
This term has seen the children take part in a wide range of activities. We have made spring flower cakes, bird silhouette pictures, cracking dino eggs and more!
One of the highlights of this term was creating our cherished friendship heart, lovingly made by the children and proudly displayed in our window. Starting as a kindness heart, it blossomed into a symbol of friendship through some heartfelt discussions with the children. Encouraging them to share their thoughts and ideas sparked the development of this beautiful concept and the children expressed that it signifies the lasting friendships made at our club, ones that will hopefully be remembered forever!
As many of you are aware, we underwent our Ofsted inspection on Thursday 7th March. It's important to note that the scoring system for wraparound care inspections has undergone recent changes. Previously, ratings were aligned with descriptors such as 'good,' 'very good,' and 'outstanding.' However, we now receive ratings of 'Met' or 'Unmet' and we are thrilled to share with you all that we got Met!
The inspector reported:
‘Children arrived at club , happy and motivated. They eagerly get involved in the activities that interest them and confirm they look forward to coming.’
And also said:
‘Parents are happy with the care provided for their children. They confirm the staff are amazing and manage children’s behaviour well. Parents say they like the seamless support provided for children who have additional needs and feel there is a real sense of extended family.’
We encourage you to read the full report as it really does share some wonderful feedback about the club.
We want to thank all the children for bringing so much joy and energy to our club. A big shoutout to the parents who took the time to speak with the inspector, your support means the world to us. We truly appreciate your commitment to our club.
Wow, wow, wow! What an absolute blast it was to see all the children decked out in their World Book Day costumes! Each year, we're floored by the incredible effort and enthusiasm put into creating these fantastic outfits. From the Magic Faraway Tree and Maleficent to Hermione Granger and the White Rabbit, the variety was simply astounding. And, if you were lucky enough, you might have spotted a certain Manager channelling their inner Mary Poppins!
Due to the whirlwind pace of this term, we regrettably haven't had the opportunity to elect our Club Council or host Clublands Got Talent just yet. However, rest assured that these activities are at the top of our priority list as we kick off the Summer term - which is shaping up to be brimming with crafts, outdoor games, and hopefully some sunshine.
We're actively involving the children in the activity planning process by offering them folders filled with ideas to choose from. Moreover, we eagerly embrace any creative suggestions they may offer. This approach not only instils a sense of ownership but also ensures that our range of crafts and activities is inclusive and accommodating to all.
We hope you and your families have a relaxing and enjoyable Easter holidays and look forward to welcoming the Summer term in will you all.
From Wendy, Laura and the entire Clubland team
